2021: New "Little & Loved" Parent Class at Immanuel
Sundays 9:30-10:30, Nov 7-Dec 19 (no class Nov 28). Immanuel parents of toddlers are invited to a new class called "Little and Loved" during the education hour on Sunday mornings. The program will be offered in the Summer, during Advent, and next Spring during Lent. Click here to learn more!
2020: Exemplary Program Award
Musikgarten recognizes music studios around the nation with the "Exemplary Musikgarten Program" award in recognition of long-established commitment to the Musikgarten philosophy and offering four or more levels of classes. Congratuations to Immanuel Valpo Musikgarten for receiving this honor for the second year in a row!
2018: Immanuel Valpo Musikgarten Room Make-Over!
The nursery renovation at Immanuel Lutheran Church has been completed! Upgrades include new flooring, cabinets, furniture, decor, bathroom remodel, and a dedicated Musikgarten closet. Many thanks to the IMPACT (Immanuel Members Practicing Acts of Caring Together) Team for their many hours of service!

2013: Musikgarten Overseas
While on an overseas mission trip, Mrs. Fields visited an English-language day school in Phenom Penh, Cambodia. She shared with preschool teachers the Musikgarten approach to teaching music featuring the sacred curriculum, God's Children Sing. Independent Musikgarten studios are located in nearly all 50 states. Additionally, Musikgarten curricula have a been adapted and used in Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Spain, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, China, Thailand, and the Philippines.
2013: ECMMA Certifcation, Level 1
Mrs. Fields has recently earned her Level 1 certification wth ECMMA (Early Childhood Music and Movement Association). Requirements for certification include 30 hours of coursework in early childhood music and/or movement education; 15 hours of fieldwork observation or supervised participation in a structured ECMMA program; at least one year of teaching experience; and recommendation by studio parents.
2013: Musikgarten Festival
Musikgarten is committed to training teachers who teach music and understand children. Every year Musikgarten teachers from around the country gather to attend expert-led sessions and find inspiration at the annual Musikgarten Festival, held this year in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Fields attended the program over the weekend.
2012: Musikgarten Certification
Mrs. Fields attended a week-long Musikgarten Training Workshop in Atlanta, GA. Led by internationally recognized early childhood music educators and master teachers, the workshop trained participants in the art of teaching music notation, aural recognition games, traditional dance, and ensemble development. After completing the 34 hour training, Mrs. Fields in now certified to teach the Musikgarten curriculum from birth through age 7.
2010: Musikgarten Certification
Mrs. Fields attended a week-long Musikgarten Training Workshop in Atlanta, GA. Led by master trainer and sought-after clinician, Dr. Mary Louise Wilson, the workshop trained participants in the art of teaching early childhood music. After completing the 38-hour training, Mrs. Fields in now certified to teach the Musikgarten curriculum from birth through age 5, including the sacred curriculum, God's Children Sing.
